Dan Downes has
practiced law for over 30 years representing the seriously
injured. While working as a detective on the Chicago Police
Department he attended Loyola Law School and graduated with
a Juris Doctorate degree in 1972. He began his career working
for the former Henslee firm in 1973, where he spent many years
representing the injured, including injured railroad workers,
for designated legal counsel Martin Henslee (deceased 1992).
His experience as a licensed pilot and licensed
Captain of Watercraft assists him in handling cases for clients
in marine and aviation incidents. Dan has represented injured
clients throughout the Midwest and, for the excellent job
he has done in obtaining justice for their members, he has
earned the privilege of being Designated Legal Counsel for
the American Train Dispatchers Association, the Brotherhood
of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, the Brotherhood of Maintenance
of Way Employees, the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen, and
the United Transportation Union.

He is licensed to practice
law in Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, and several United States
District Courts, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
Dan is a member in good standing of the Illinois Bar Association,
the Minnesota Bar Association, the Nebraska Bar Association,
and he serves proudly on the Board of the Academy of Rail
Labor Attorneys.
